My story

My yoga journey started in 1993 at The Life Centre in Notting Hill Gate, London. Since then, it has led me to a journey I would have never imagined. I trained for years with Simon Low (Yin Yoga) and often assisted him doing demonstrations in his classes at Triyoga Primrose Hill. From 2002 I made yearly trips to Godfrey Devereaux’s Dynamic Yoga ashram in the hills of Ibiza, I later I trained at Jivamukti London with Yogeshwari and Patrick Broome 75hr TTC. After moving to Rome, I practiced Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga at Lino Miele's AYRI Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute. In 2010, after a divorce, I left a successful acting career in Italy and moved to India, where I studied in depth with several masters and I've been teaching and traveling since 2012.

I embraced my spiritual path, living in the Himalayas among yogis and shamans and the local tribes. I've traveled throughout India and visited Nepal and Sri Lanka and other Asian countries, teaching in resorts, assisting and leading 200-hour teacher trainings. Eventually, I settled in McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala, home of the Dalai Lama, where I became resident to study Buddhist philosophy at TLWA (Tibetan Library of Works and Archives) for 5 years, volunteered to teach English and yoga to children in slums, assisted in an acupuncture clinic for the Tibetan community, and hosted daily yoga classes, even running my own small studio in the village of Bhagsunag.

Since 2020, I have been back in England, offering one-to-one sound healing and breathwork, yoga classes and workshops in London and Derbyshire. I have worked with addiction recovery groups in London and participated to wellness festivals. During the winter season I hold classes and healing circles in Goa, along with yearly retreats and pilgrimages in the Himalayas.

I mainly practice and teach Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga as taught to me by Guruji BNS Iyengar in Mysore, a direct student of Sri Tirumalai Krishanmacharya, known as the father of modern Yoga and the Ashthanga Vinyasa traditional method. I received Guruji’s blessings to teach after studying with him asanas, pranayama, mudras and philosophy, from 2011 to 2015. I also owe my gratitude to Ajay Kumar at Sthalam8 Yogashala. Other teachers in the Ashtanga lineage that I am grateful to are Lino Miele, David Swenson, Louis Ellis, Kathy Cooper, Danny Paradise and more recently Joey Miles. I studied Iyengar Yoga for several years with master Usha Devi Ji at Omkarananda Ashram in Rishikesh. On December 2016 I received Diksha blessings by Mahayogi Pilot Babaji in Haridwar (India), my spiritual name is Savitri Giri.

I found my love for Sound Healing during trips to Kathmandu beginning in 2010. I explored the local sound therapy traditions and practices and returned every year to further my knowledge. Now, I provide group sound journeys and personal healing sessions using singing bowls and gongs in the Himalayan tradition to offer deep meditative experiences, and promote wellness and harmony.

Since 2018, I have become a certified Breathwork facilitator, and this remarkable practice has become an invaluable tool that enables me to provide profound healing experiences. Through this transformative modality, I am able to host impactful workshops for groups and offer personalized sessions focused on trauma release, fostering deep transformation, and promoting overall well-being and positive life-changes.

I have a Bachelor degree in Acting and I am trained in body movement, voice work, Alexander Technique, Meisner improvisation, and drama therapy. With years of experience in theatre as an actress, director, and producer, I've translated contemporary English plays into Italian. My theatre work focused on social issues and equality. Before moving to India, I spent time advocating for women's and artists' rights in Italy. I also enjoy street photography, guerrilla-style videography, and solo trekking in the Himalayas.

I aim to provide a complete approach to wellness and create experiences that foster a strong mind-body-soul connection.

Om Sri Gurubhyo Namaha

In the sacred rhythm of existence, we find the profound, where the guidance of the guru is illuminating the path toward self-discovery and liberation.

Let us surrender to the deep teachings that emerge through the transmission of parampara. Allow every inhalation to carry the blessing of clarity and awareness, while each exhalation releases that which no longer serves us.

In these moments, we transcend ordinary perception, merging mind and spirit, grounding ourselves in the present. Through conscious practices infused with the essence of Holi, we become one with God.

May the blessings of our teachers guide us, as we journey together toward holistic health and inner peace, becoming vessels of light and change in this world.
